down. However, crime rates are dependent upon said crimes being
reported in the first place. In this animalistic atmosphere present in
many larger communities nowadays most people understand that, except in
the most flagrant & extreme of circumstances, they'd best not even
*think* of turning someone in. So, the reported rates are actually
artificially low. Take the events of a couple weeks ago just a few
miles east of where I live. In Lincoln Park, MI. A few residents in a
senior citizen's complex finally get fed up with another resident's foul
language & make a complaint to the housing commission. After a meeting
between the person at the heart of the matter & the complainants, he
comes back & "puts a bullet in their ass". Three innocent women died
there.
Although I do agree society uses fear quite often to push their hidden
agendas. Like the NRA. Without public hysteria, there'd be no
membership dues for them to collect, which in turn pays for the higher
official's salaries. You get the idea.
