Man, we all griped about getting it.. Now we want it perfect, imagine
that...
But while I'm on the subject..

1)      I can not save my setups....
2)      I haven't been able to get any decals on the rear deck lid in the
paintshop....

Oh, btw, hehe... DO NOT CLICK ON THAT LITTLE SETUP ARROW IF YOU DON'T HAVE
ANYTHING WRITTEN BESIDE IT... BAD THINGS HAPPEN...

As far as I know you can't put decals there.  It's not a bug, just a
design limitation.

I go to configure my joystick/keyboard and I now am not able to use the
Left Shift and Left Ctrl buttons for the gas/brakes.  Let's correct this
unless there is some keyboard conflict with these buttons.

Do the full install.  I had the same problem running from the minimum
install, but it saves fine if you do the full install.

These keys are already in use by the game, so you can't use them.  Try A
and Z instead.

The games been out for what a week?
You people just don't get it! There is a reason it was delayed
in the first place, these things take time, don't start a bunch of posts
only a week after it's release DEMANDING a patch. It's unrealistic
and at best all it'll do is***people off.

I agree with Brian, Papyrus has been good about patches so far but the
first step is letting them know the bugs and then give'em time to do the
patch. I, like others have had bugs and posted them ((the worst being no
chat in net play (in the chat room, not the race)) so post the bugs and let
them work on it.

All a sane person would be asking at this time is that the problems
around here have been acknowledged and they are working as hard as
possible to correct them for us.

ATM all we have had in response so far is about the SAVE and that was a
simple "We have no plans to add it".

So my confidence in general with that reply was shaken a bit. Silence
is scary.

I have sent E-mail to Papy, and all I recieved back was that the
programming team was forward the message. What happened from there I
don't know.

Maybe if it pisses em off they will get off their fat asses and do
something about it.

I can assure you that your post has not inspired me in any way to do
anything about anything.

We are working on several issues that we know are not right. However,
experience has shown us that pretty much anything we say about patches,
upcoming releases, upcoming features, etc in rec.auto.sim comes back to
bite us.

Most of the Papyrus employees that read r.a.s. are here reading these
posts and responding on our own time, from our own accounts. Posts like
yours don't do much to inspire management to take r.a.s. seriously...

Papyrus, speaking for myself here.

As a programmer (not Sierra/Papyrus) I have to remind folks who are
already demanding a patch that these things cannot be turned out
overnight. We sometimes work 14 hour days meeting deadlines..and generally
once the project is completed, there is another one to begin right away.
Rest? LOL...a neat concept but not a reality for most of us. As Mr.
Sokoloff posted they are aware of several issues and Papyrus has always
been very thorough in their work. N1 was 99.9% bug free after the second
patch..the only problems being an occassional HOG and the annoying 56-mph
pit speed goof while using autobrake. Enjoy the sim, note any problems,
post them, and I'm sure if the problem is more than just esoteric it will
be addressed in the near future. We all know about the save race feature,
continuing to post about it is wasting band width. Thanks.

Jim,

Please disregard post's like this from morons. You guys are
doing a great job and have again upped the standard of racing
simulators.

BTW,

When are you going to build a Sprint Car sim? :)

Regards,
        ---Wayne

Nicely put, on the mark, Jim.  Just don't forget about kill lists in
your newsreader so you can sift through the b.s. and find the serious
r.a.s. posts.  If you and other Sierra/Papyrus employees are here, you
probably have a good idea of who and what you can "filter."  Thanks
for your comments.
