NR 2003 demo caibration problem

Hi

I have a wingman rumble pad but the game seems not to keep the calibration.
The car keep going to the left. I was thinking it was cause by the banking
on the track but going in wrong way is the same. When I go to calibrate my
control device, all the setup is gone! Why?

I have no problem with all my other racing game with this device. NR 2002
was fine too with this device.

My spec:  win xp
                p4    2,53 gig
                512 ram  (2700)
ATI Radeon 9700 pro with the latest
                catalyst and dx 9

Thanks in advance for the info

Because of the assymetrical setups on ALL ovals, WC cars are setup to steer left, so you actually
have to steer to the right a little going down the straights.

Yes, but if I go on wrong way ( just to test it) the car still keep to the
left and climb the banking! In a track like Watkins glen, there is some
straight line and no banking. I am pretty sure if I could run on this track,
the car would steer to the left again... As I said, anyway, the game don't
keep the calibration and I don't know why... I hope this is because it's a
beta version...

                       Please help me someone...        Guill

I've had a similar problem to you, but interpret your sutuation slightly
differently. I too run a Wingman rumbler and i've noticed that occasionally
NR2002 will forget it's calibration settings. I load up the game, and the
first prompt i'm shown is a demand to calibrate my device, which should be
an automatic process and not requested, curiously the calibration menu will
have some axes missing. If i reload the game, no calibration request is
made, everything works and i can carry on to race weekend, strange... I'm
assuming this is what you mean when you say your set-up is gone?

As for your handling difficulties, i'd suggest you check the central
deadzone in the calibration menu, move your stick to left and right extremes
and let the stick find it's own deadzone, maybe you could do the same
procedure in the 'Game Controllers > calibration' bit of XP.

Good Luck.

Yes, this is what I mean. But the problem is worst in nr2003 than in nr2002.
In Nr 2003, the game forget calibration setting every time. In fact, it
seems that when I quit the calibration menu, the game forget the setting as
soon as I quit this menu! However, if I reload the game, there is no
calibration request. For the dead zone, I have always put the stick to the
extreme zone and let it to the center.   I hope this problem will be solved
in the full game. It is really a problem with this demo and not by this
device. By the way, I have the latest driver for this device.
All my other racing game have no problem at all with this device...
So I wonder what is the problem...      Guill
