That one didn't do much for me. Yeah, I played it, but I got hooked on a
couple in late high shool/early college. Flash and Paragon. In college, we
discovered that Paragon had a flaw that allowed us to rack up many credits with
only one quarter...
:-)
Later I got hooked on Whirlwind and Earthshaker.

My Step Grandad rented pinball machines and vending machines in general

an issue where if you could push the flipper fast enough while the ball
was inside on of the detent points makers you could snap off 10-15 free
games.

Do you mean a hole the ball dropped in? Yep, that trick worked on a couple
others as well(can't remember which, though). What it(hitting the flippers
fast) would do is use up so much power that the kicker couldn't eject the ball.
It would keep falling in the hole and giving whatever value it was on at the
time.
