Rendition cards are cheaper, looking just as good, but can't give you
framerates above 50... Anyway, the rendition cards are much less CPU
dependant than 3dfx, so if your puter isn't a PII, you're best off with
a rendition card!

Anyway, who's needing framerates of 50 or more? The eye can't tell the
difference between 30 and 40, but the eye can tell the difference
between anti aliasing and not... In short you don't need framerates of
50, you need visual quality, and the rendition cards are arguably the
best there is... It will work nicely with GPL as well... ;-)

A P2 is only really needed for a Voodoo2. I have had 3dfx cards in a P100,
166, a P2 266 and now a P2 333 and they're all worth it. I wouldn't recommend
the rendition cards as they are pretty much dead with regards to support
outside Sierra games.

Nonsense - lower than a P/AMD 266 -> Voodoo I will work perfect !!
