Please give me your opinions. I have N3 and its totally awesome!
However, I've seen positive feedback on N2000.

N2000 is so much better than n3
N3 is not a sim, it is a crappy arcade game. N2000 has most real life physics
modeled, along with a spetacular EA Sports intro.

Get the Accelerator Pack from Papy.  It has N3, and the N3 Craftsman Truck
Series add-on, and Nascar Legends in the same box for $45 or $50.  I'm
kicking myself now because I didn't wait and I bought each individually.
Stupid Papy!  Why didn't they release the trucks with N3 like NR99?

N3 vs N2000

I've got both, but I've not done any RACING with either, so I can't
speak of the AI or in-race realism, but when running hot laps and such,
the N2000 physics model feels a bit more "lively" and communicative
than N3.  Actually, to be honest, it's been a while since I've fired up
N3, but I have been playing around with NASCAR Legends for the past few
nights, and there's not much difference between that and N3, so I think
my statement is still sound without doing a quick head-to-head
comparison of N3 and N2000.

All in all, N2000 feels like a move towards the Viper Racing end of the
spectrum, but the steering seems a bit numb and the car seems somewhat
unresponsive, with a tendency to drift a bit (which is probably
accurate for a bit, tank-like NASCAR vehicle).  I haven't touched any
of the chassis settings in any of the recent NASCAR sims on my hard
drive, so keep in mind that all of my impressions are based on the
default chassis settings -- things might improve all around with better
setups.

Why not download the N2000 demo if you haven't already done so, and
compare the demo track to the same track in N3, then form your own
opinions?

Thanks for all the great opinions.  I'll definitely have to try the
demo (DUH!). I guess I should have thought of that before. Are these
two sims the best or is there any one thats better like F1 or Dirt
Track Racing?

N3 vs N2000

There is a big list of racing simulations better than N2000 (it's pretty
poor I would say to simulate real-life WinstonCup Racing).  Grand Prix
Legends is the best sim on the market at the moment (and by a large margin),
but in the next year we are awaiting 3 major racing simulation titles :
Nascar Racing 4 (using the new game engine by Papyrus), World Sports Cars
and Grand Prix 3.  There is other sims on the market that are better also,
but not as good as GPL in terms of realism of car handling.  Dirt Track
Racing is pretty fun if you like this type of racing, and for F1 games well
mmm.. there ain't a good one yet but F1 2000 is the best of the worst.
Viper Racing is very good, while Need For Speed : Porsche Unleashed is very
good also!

Nascar Racing 4 is subject to release pretty soon, near October iirc.  So if
you can wait, don't waste your precious time on N2000.

NASCAR 2000 is clearly a lot better than its awful predecessor, NASCAR
Revolution, but it still does not make the grade. Sierra's NASCAR
Racing 3 and NASCAR Legends are still the titles of choice for racing
simulation fans, and for those who love arcade racers there is still
no PC stock car offering satisfying out there (perhaps to be satisfied
by Hasbro Sports' forthcoming NASCAR Heat?). In just so many areas
NASCAR 2000 comes close but gets no cigar, and after two tries I am
beginning to suspect that there are some fundamental flaws and
limitations with the basic Stormfront Studios code that underlies this
effort. The only really commendable areas are the graphics (but not
including the animation), the pit crew dynamics, and the artificial
intelligence (but not during crashes), and these are more than offset
by areas of fatal flaws such as in frame rates and collision behavior.
So if you are considering buying this release, consider the yellow
caution flag to be firmly out there giving you fair warning of
problems ahead.

you know, I know your being sarcastic man, but #1 it's not funny enough
where someone is actually asking a question, and may go peand 40 bucks on
your advice, If you can't say something nice, useful or funny...

I'm not flaming, I'm just saying, be careful, as no one cal tell your
sarcasm, without note of it.

as for N2000, read the review in this months PCGamer, I think it's very
honest, and I'm glad Andy Mahood has finally brought some sim racing
credibility to that magazine.

Now you have opened up the can of worms.  You are gonna get the standard canned answer in this
NG.... In unison everyone... "GPL"

Everyone has an opinion, mine on this GPL, it is barely drivable, and that really takes a lot of the
fun out of it.  As for your origional question... If you are looking for eye candy (ie graphics)
stay with NASCAR2000... If you want more fun on-line racing, go with Nascar 3.

Thanks,

Certainly, for realism and hard core sim racer types, GPL does fit the bill
nicely. As Mike mentioned below, it will seem barely driveable, at least in
the early stages. But practice and patience, and you'll find it an extremely
satisfying and challenging sim.
As for N3 versus N2000, go with N3 hands down. It is a fantastic Nascar
simulation, and has the best built in  mulitplayer aspect of any sim to
date.
