Whatever they are calling it, I was wondering what kind of requirements that,
since it is supposto be based on the GPL engine, that a computer to play it on
will need.

I have been seeing Celeron computers going for less than $1,000 after some
rebates and was wondering if GPL runs well on a Celeron or one of the AMD <?>
computers. I'm not interested in overclocking, I just want one that will run
the game well.

results even if you didn't overclock.

There fear of overclocking is mostly unjustified.  Intel sells overclocked
chips everyday.  The just stamp a different number on them and allow them to
run at higher (overcloked) speeds

It is always a bad idea to buy hardware _before_ the software is
out....Just wait until N3/N2000 is released, _then_ buy the hardware.
As a bonus, it will be cheaper too.

GPL runs great on my machine ...  if I only have about 6 cars running on the
track. I cannot imagine a full Nascar field running with the GPL engine without
some serious modifications. I think that a lot of 3D games which suffer
extensive delays do so sometimes because they are waiting for the machine to
come out that can handle it. Look at Unreal - major system hog - it shipped
almost 2 years late, but when it came out, the top of the line machine was just
adequate enough to handle it. Had it come out on time, no one would've been
able to play it. I'll bet they have to do the same with N3.
