Hi Everyone
I was wondering if someone could give me some advice regarding graphic
cards. I want to upgrade but I am unsure what to go for. Do I go for Gee
Force 2 (32mb) (anyone know cheapest place to get one)or the voodoo 5 which
seems to be going ridiculously cheap at the moment. i know the voodoo is
being discontinued but i am unsure how this will effect me in the future.
The games I need it for most are GPL and WSC when it arrives. Hope someone
can help.

I would go for the GeForce2 MX, the Hercules ProphetII MX is a great card,
and it will run GPL beautifully using the d3d patch.
By the time WSC arrives, your probably going to want a 64 mb card, so if you
can afford it consider the 64 mb GeForce2.

  Kev,
I bought a Geforce2 MX card to replace my V3 3000 and found it the same or
worse in most of the popular car sims around at the moment. In GPL there was

the same res as the MX and looked better IMHO. Interestingly in NSF5 at
1024x748 the V3 averaged around 40fps (using FRAPS) while the MX could only
manage around 26. Naturally I've returned the MX and am looking for a V5
before they disappear.
            Hope this helps .
                                     Phillip...

Well, I traded in my V5 for a Geforece2 Ultra and the difference is amazing
on GPL and F1CS.
On GPL I can run at 1600x1200 at the maximum 37-38 frame rate with no
problem at all.

Don't be tempted by a PCI version if you can't find an AGP. I made this
mistake yesterday. It makes the AGP V3 look like an even better card than
I knew it was already :->
