After watching the FIA GT race at Silverstone last night on Speed
channel, I decided to give this ugly duckling a test drive.  Now I've never
driven this beast before since its looks just turned me off, but it turned
out that I was really missing a true driving treat. The Lister is fast, even
though its down on hp. It's very nimble and requires a light touch to be
fast through the turns, other wise one pays a quick trip to the many gravel
traps.

So for now the Lister is going to be my choice to run my 1st
championship.

It is a very nice car, I agree. I won my first full length race at Spa with
it when the other lister spun out with 5 laps to go on that 180 degree right
hand downhill corner. You know, the one with no grip :)

I always have a problem with tyre temperature though. I spent a lot of time
getting the break bias about right to keep the temperatures fairly even. It
seems to be able to out-break a lot of the cars, and that's when I do my
passing. The car doesn't seem to go fast enough to out-power any car in any
straights.

I don't find the cornering to be nearly as bad as you mentioned, as long as
the tyres are good. There's a few cars that are a lot more touchy in the
corners that I've noticed..
But yeah, I watched that GT race from silverstone last night too... quite
awesome.

Ah yes, one of the few off-camber corners these days.. ; )

Yeah, I had to move the brake bias a little to the rear from Doug's setups
to avoid cooking my inside front tyres.

I find the Viper and Marcos to be the most touchy in the corners.

Weird.. I had to move the bias towards the front, because I kept cooking the
rear tyres. But, that was specific to Spa. I haven't really lapped anywhere
else with the Lister (or any other GTR car for that matter).
With Doug's setups (those are the ones shipped with the game that I was also
told to download from somewhere to put it in proper folders?), I had the
rear tyres red after 3 laps..

Generally if the rears are burning up it's due to too much wheelspin on
corner exits.  Try to keep the rear from stepping out under hard
acceleration if possible.
