GPL hardware/video card?

by zzzzzzzzz » Tue, 23 Jul 2002 12:18:03

I haven't played GPL since last fall when I sold my Logitech wheel.
I'm considering getting back into it but I am now with a different
video card.  I am using a:
Gigabyte GV-GF1280RT GeForce 2

Will this work with GPL using the D3D patch?  What kind of performance
should I anticipate?

It obviously also depends on the rest of your system, but it should work fine in d3d mode.

GPL hardware/video card?

It will work. How well depends on how many graphical add-ons you want to
use. For example I have a AMD 1800xp and a GF3. I have some assume add-ons
for all the cars and tracks. With a full field at 1600x1200 res I only pull
14 fps in D3D or 17 in OGL. Once the field spreads out it comes right up to
the capped 36 fps. Now I don't want to scare you because with the graphics I
have IMO GPL looks better than NR2002.

So as always it comes down to what you want to spend vs. what you want to
see.
