F12002 and VooDoo?

Is there any way to get it to work? I can't get the demo running. I almost
went to EB and bought the release, does that support VooDoo? Is there a
trick or a patch?

Dagnabbit. I can't get the demo to work. It won't even load, just crashes
with a page fault.

Mark do you have a V5?  That should work, although at a disadvantage, but
a V3 will NOT work, there just isn't enough texture memory.

I have to give myself a big DUH!. I jut now checked DXDiag and found I have
DX8. (And a VooDoo 5  5500AGP as I suspected.)

So, you must have 8.1. Was the upgrade pain free with the V5? Should I do
it?

Assuming we are talking Voodoo5 ...

I found disabling "Geometry Assist" under 3df/xTools Advanced Features -
Direct3D then rebooting did the trick for me using the last "official"
drivers (1.04) for both the demo and retail version of F1-2002.

Regards ...

At least with F12002 and GP32K anyway. Haven't tried anything else.

Dx8.1 and a V5 doesn't cause a problem.  I loaded it when I installed N2002 or
Star Wars Clone Campaign - one of the two.

Cool, I installed it, and I got everything working except for the 'generic
controller driver' in GPL. All I can use now is 'direct input'. Any ideas on
that one?

Sorry, no.  Mine will still let me select either direct or generic...  What
kind of wheel did you have again?

So's mine(analog, that is).  Do you also have a game port on your sound card?
Maybe they're conflicting somehow...  I have a PDPI card that I use the wheel
with, and the port on my SBLive is disabled.

I do, but I can't figure out how to disable one or the other. No jumpers or
anything in the manuals and only the one showing in device manager....

hang on....

...

...nope. I tried remove and adding the controllers and got nothing. Hmm...
DXDIAG says nothing is wrong. Well, CPR works so I'll just take what I got.

You can disable the one on your sound card in the device manager in Windows.
If you'd rather USE that one, you can disable the one on your motherboard
through CMOS setup.

Oh yeah, I forgot about CMOS.

I used to use generic because the direct driver would drift over the course
of a race. I have retired to occasional (not so) hotlapper though... so far
it's working fine.
