TRACK PACK Trouble: Won't work with Matrox?!

by Pigdog from SF B » Wed, 12 Jun 1996 04:00:00

Hi, everyone!  Would anyone know why my Track Pack (bought the disk version
from a friend) won't work with my version of Nascar that came with my
Matrox Millenium in SVGA mode?  If I use the regular NASCAR.EXE that comes
with the Track Pack, and runit in standard VGA mode, I can use all the
extra tracks, but if I use either that executable, or the one that comes
with my Matrox, in SVGA mode, then I cannot use my extra tracks.  The
tracks appear in the menu, and I can select all the tracks that come with
the game, but when I move the menu bar over an add-on track, it does not
show the picture of the track, and when I try and load it, it gives an
error.

Any clues on this one?

THANKS!

That's a no brainer. Disks=VGA CD's=SVGA
It's like buying a 3.5" Nascar and buying the CD Track Pack (Like myself).
In order to get SVGA, you have to have CD's.

TRACK PACK Trouble: Won't work with Matrox?!

by Robert Charles Corneli » Thu, 13 Jun 1996 04:00:00

Another problem with my Matrox set-up; the track pack loads and installs fine,
but locks up at Pocono, always coming out of the third turn after a couple
laps. Happens in season or single race mode and on qualifying as well.

Any ideas?

Not true, the svga is in nascar.exe, I have the track pack on 3.5"
disks and svga works fine. I can't tell you why the Millenium doesnt
work though. I originally installed the matrox version in a seperate
location and then just copied the extra track and car set directories
into the new location, and everything works ok. Maybe give that a try
