Lack of Daytona Tracks?

Has anybody else noticed that we don't see the Daytona track being used in
many racing games any more. It was used in 'Daytona USA', in the arcade, but
that's about it...

Why don't the rest of them (ICR2, NCR1/2/3) have it?

Really man??? Sorry I didnt recognize the Track with the bridge over the
backstretch with the slot machine on it. Also the Mountain in Turn 3 kinda
threw me off.
Sega owns the exclusive rights to Daytona from the track itsself.......which
is one reason why we never see this track.
Also, neither IRL or CART run at Daytona which is why we would never see the
track in those games if there WEREN'T exclusive rights by Sega.
Personally, i beleive SEGA has the rights to it, but only uses the name, cuz
that AINT Daytona.......that and the only racing theyve seen is from Days of
Thunder.......which the guys at EA also watched to get an idea on car
physics......lol.

Hmm first of all it would be quite non-sense to have Daytona with Icr2  ;)

SEGA of America has an exclusive license for the Daytona International
Speedway name and likeness.  Exclusive means that if some other company
wants to buy a license for the likeness and/or name, they need to talk with
the DIS authorities -and- Sega also (I think).  And since Sega made one of
the most successful arcade game ever with Daytona USA (they only decided to
use the name, not the likeness) they want to keep the monopoly of it.

The license is very expensive (in the multi-million$ I heard and would
speculate) also.  It's often not really a good economical idea to try to get
a likeness or name license because of the high-price of it and the revenues
you will get after compare to if it wouldn't be in the software.

It's the same with Indy now: they've got a good game going with it, and they
aren't letting it go....so the only way to get indy is to get the old ICR1
Indy track pack and hope to find enough convertors for what you want
