I need a set of potentiometers for the pedals of my Wingman Formula wheel.
Where do I get these? The Logitech support pages seem to be useless (search
failed).

Any 100K potentiometers should work fine. Potentiometers (for the most part)
are pretty standard. Just stick with 100K and you should be fine.

I haven't tried placing 50K pots in the wingman, but those drivers are so
intrusive and set in their ways, I'd be afraid of the results anyways.

Do a search for potentiometers on a search engine, maybe accompanied by your
location, and maybe you'll find a store locally that carries them. I would
perhaps suggest you bring your old pots with you, in case you get confused
over the diff. types.

Cheers,

Schumi

The Logitech Pots look the same as the pots in my CH pedals, including the
half-cut end, so perhaps CH might be a source?

All pots pretty much "look alike". The important piece of information you
need to synchronize with the Logi (based on their preset driver settings),
is to get yourself 100K pots. If you can get 100K pots from CH, or hack it
out of another controller, it should work just fine. Just gotta make sure
they are 100K is all, or be ready to do some registry tweaking, etc.

Cheers,

Schumi

Nick,
In original the pedal-pots are 10k.
If 100k (which is actually the value for the steering pot) will do and you are
fine with the LWFF-pedals (many are not), you should ask MikeT for some. He
sells a HQ 3rd party pot for the steering shaft.

BTW: I tell you a trick:
Just exchange the brake and throttle pot, most likely it will work again :-)
Why?
The pedal-pots maximum deflection is only used to a very small part. exchanging
the pots let them work "on a fresh layer".

BTW2:
Jason,
you know that JSchumi is already reserved for me in VROC? ;-)

When I converted my LWF to using CH pedals, I just plugged the wires from
the Logitech directly into the CH pots, booted up, calibrated and everything
works fine.  No need to tweak the registry at all.  And I don't know about
all pots, but both the Logitech and CH pots are semicircular at the end to
plug into their respective mechs.  A round-ended shaft would require some
work to....work.

Cheers,

Steve B.

Glad it worked Steve.

When I was referring to "registry tweaks" though, it was under 2 premises:

1) Logi utilize their own drivers (which are very intrusive at the best of
times), so it is highly likely that they have their software calibrations,
etc. based on particular Ohm value (100K).

2) If you put in a 50K pot (as an example), and #1 is true, there will be
registry tweaks required to override the defaults of the Logi software.
Otherwise you will not get full range on the pots, and inconsistent results
may show themselves.

From what you told me though, it would seem as though:

a) The pots are of the same Ohm value in both (topic moot at this point)
b) The pots are not the same Ohm value, but the drivers do not force the Ohm
value in its settings (leaving it open for determination during
calibration).

Either way... it works well for whatever reason, and that is great :)

Cheers,

Schumi

The CH pots work Great in the LWFF!!
