Hi,

I am looking at purchasing a Logitech WingMan Formula Force Wheel
direct from the US, to be sent to Austalia.

My only concern about doing this is the power adapter requirements. In
Australia we run
off 240V, 50Hz. Can any please tell me the power requirements for the
adapter?

I had a look at the Logitech website (http://www.racesimcentral.net/) without luck,
looking for info about the power adapter. I then had a look at the Force One
website (http://www.racesimcentral.net/) and they had a review about this wheel. It
mentioned
that the power supply:  "...The power supply is the usual Logitech-labeled
unit that has cords on each end."

Does this mean, if the adapter requires is an AC/DC Adapter with an input of
120V, and output of 12V, 600mA,
I can use an adapter here that provides the same output?

Any info and help will be greatly apreciated.

Cheers,

Ray, there is a gentleman from Logitech named Tom who regularly posts to the
I-Gorce site who may have the answer to your question.

just a thought to save you a bucketload of money ... the shippin cost will be
around
$ 130 us ... that is what i was quoted on the Force RS ... so that just about
doubles the price ... and you can already pick up the Logitech Formula Force
here in Australia ... Electronics Boutique will have it shortly and Harvey
Norman are already carrying it ... i saw one about a week ago ... nice looking
whell btw

if you arent in sydney ... im sure you could get them to ship it to you ... and
it would save a heap on the freight costs ... not to mention the time. Harvey
Norman will also be carrying the ACT Labs wheels ... the RS is in stock now but
not the FORCE RS

good huntiing

Hi Raymond,

the US power adapter's label is:

Input: 120VAC, 60Hz, 45W, 480mA
Output: 20VDC, 1.5A

You could either use a 240V->120V step down transformer, or build your
own power supply which outputs enough juice.

It's up to you, but I'd try to get the thing in Australia. It's a *huge*
box.

My advice is....don't get it from OS for the simple reason that it requires
a power supply.

A friend of mine bought back some speakers from the US for me (Altec Lansing
ACS-48's - fantastic speakers by the way) and it was going to be a
monumental hassle getting transformers or whatever was needed. One place
quoted me thousands to get the right piece of equipment.

Thankfully the local distributor (Innovision: www.innovision.com.au or
www.microdirect.com.au) came to my rescue which was really good of them.
They went out of their way to help when they were under no obligation too.
Great service that.

In the end it cost more more to get them in the States than to buy them
locally, plus all the extra hassle.
