Here it is the first of the gp2 editors this was downloaded
from:http://www.racesimcentral.net/~hce/index.htm
It allows you to adjust the amount of damage to your car.
A big thanx goes out to you guys working on these editors.

The odd setup file that is 50 lines or so is ok, but larger than that
belongs in the binaries group and is bad netiquete to post here.
Lots of people have to pay to download/read these articles, not me
of course :) but I just thought I would let you know this more
gently than some others who will probably flame.
Cheers.

Grow up and show a little respect for others. John was simply
explaining one of the components of netiquette that need to be followed
to help maintain containment of the chaos usenet generates.
Usenet is a virtual society. In order for it to continue to evolve and
work for the members of this society, certain "common law" guidelines
need to be maintained. One of those netiquette guidelines is NOT to post
large binaries to discussion groups. At least John's post was
intelligent and informative.

in response to Joao's reminder about binaries not belonging in this group has
posted his entry in the r.a.s twit of the month contest.
Or is that "Quit crying, ***!"
Oh heavens, I am paralyzed with trepidation lest I too be skewered by the
rapier-like wit of the infamous RaCer X, but nevertheless, as did Lancelot, I
too shall endeavor to cross the bridge of swords unscathed.
You, dear sir, because of your utter lack of respect for long time denizens of
this forest, have been kill-filed.
As I expect many others will choose the same option, your illiterate responses
will now just bandy harmlessly around ***space. Amazing! How does one
manage to***up the grammer in a three word response?
eric
It's interesting to note that 107 lines of exceeding useful
information is considered "bad netiquete" but 60+ lines
complaining about it isn't?
I wouldn' even want to count the number of "GP2 is here!"
lines or "Let's split this newsgroup" lines but I think the biggest
problem with this newsgroup is that it discourages the distribution of
useful information and yet its readers eagerly contribute to the
continuation of often meaningless threads.

Notice that I was not flaming him for it this time, more like
letting him know that it is not proper to do in the future.
The 60 plus lines you are talking about was Mr. Racer X quoting my whole
article so he could call me a feline and to tell me to quit crying.
Netiquette folks, it's not new, but many of you didn't get told
about it with your "20 free hours of internet fun!" (TM)
trial offers.
Maybe meaningless to you, if you don't care about it then don't read it.
I know, it's easier to sit there and *** about it when you don't do
anything to remedy it.

Now, I for one could be selfish since my ISP offers a _very_ complete
newsfeed and has no objections to offering binary newsgroups <g>. That
may also be the case for you, but I'm sure that, like me, you wouldn't
want the group to be diminished through losing contributors and
readers because the group starts being perceived as an acceptable
forum for binaries.
IMHO, John's post was very reasonable. Unfortunately it is very
difficult to complain, however nicely, without coming across like the
"Net Police".
Couldn't agree with you more. Which makes me wonder, why did you send
your post? Come to that, why am I sending this.....? <VBG>

: Unfortunately in this case, it's not a question of the content. The
: sad fact is that there are sysops out there who will stop offering a
: newsgroup if they think it is being used to transmit binaries.
[snip]
There are a few vigilant Net-Police out there who will cancel
large-binaries in discussion groups. I can't recall off the top of my
head what the "line" limit is. It is okay to post small binaries in a
discussion group, though there will always be some who will complain.
