Switching Joysticks in WIN 95

Switching Joysticks in WIN 95

I have a joyswitch that I use to switch from my T2 wheel to my virtual pilot
pro.  What I haven't figured out is how Win 95 works with switching
joysticks.  I have to set the switches and reboot.  After the reboot I go
into control panel and redefine the joystick.  This is a pain in the butt.
Is there a faster way?  Am I missing something?

Thanks,
Doug

Doug, I also have a JoySwitch and use it for my T-2 and CH FlightStick Pro.
I found that if I switch the joysticks (on the JoySwitch) and then go into
"game controllers" and remove the previous joystick, then select the current
stick, all works well.  I don't seem to need to re-calibrate the joysticks
or re-boot when I do it this way.  Are you using Direct X 5?  I know that
"game controllers" is part of Direct X 5, not 3.  I don't know for sure if
the above procedure would work under Direct X 3.

Good luck,

Hi Doug....

I also use a Joyswitch with W95/DOS  I have no problems......I use a
J/stick + wheel/pedals......Go into 'control panel' - 'Game Controllers'
and set up your two controllers.....that should do it!

Be sure you have DX5 installed, you must remove the existing device through
control panel, then add the other device.  I put a shortcut on desktop.
Hopefully MS will fix this ongoing jstick problem with the next version of
DirectX.

Or you can do the same thing with Thrustmaster's ProPanel applet if you
don't want/need to install DirectX 5.  Get the ProPanel at:
