Create Heat tracks with notepad!

(For advanced, ambitious, and extremely patient users only!)
For those who don't have Multigen, I threw together this little program to
convert from a text file format to a subset of .FLT that can be fed to
mkworld.  It's available at
http://www.racesimcentral.net/
(mkflt.exe, source code and sample "fooland track" included, but it's
basically a green square)

Note that this is an experimental, unsupported release--don't even bother
downloading this unless you have mkworld already and are a proficient res
editor.  It will probably work with Viper's mkworld with perhaps some
modification such as setting the version number.  It may even require
modification to run with the shipped version of Heat, that's how half-assed
this is!

Dave, I've posted this info on the Blackhole Motorsports Forum - "Nascar
Heat Editing"
http://forums.bhmotorsports.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi
Seems to be well received! I figured the key people who do the tracks and
mods would be able to make heads & tails of it! Perhaps you can drop in from
time to time as some folks come looking for Viper stuff too. Since you know
your stuff, perhaps you could lend some insight to the community. The mods
are coming along nicely, and tracks too, but just a little slower! The news
of this "Util" has created a spark! :)

Well, thanks for listening....

a version 0.2 is up (http://www.mgiracing.com/mkflt02.zip) with viper
support, a viper mkworld (we haven't made heat's mkworld public due to
cheating concerns), and the ability to reference .mod (Heat format) files in
the script (e.g., terrain.mod, scenery.mod) so you don't actually have to
model the track in notepad (except walls and roadpaths). (Note: this pile of
pants is AS IS!)

Your two dopplegangers won't feel hurt if I only reply to one of the three
of you, will they?  ;)

Thanks, Dave! Although I'm not a creater of tracks, I'll make sure it gets
to the proper individuals! Sorry about that extra, extra post! Guess I
wanted to make sure you saw it! :)
