Calibrate the joystick and LEAVE the throttle wheel in the middle of it's
range (i.e, where you want to have no gas and no brake applied) before
pressing OK and leaving the calibration window.
Go to Set Controls, select Throttle and move the wheel forwards from the
center position. Move the wheel back to the center position again.
Select Brake and move the wheel backwards from the center position.
Both the Throttle and Brake should now use the same joystick axis (throttle
wheel which should be axis 3 or 4), but in different directions. I think.
