The physics appears to be modeled excellently in this game. The apparent
elevation changes are awesome, much better than GP2 IMHO. So I tried
stopping on a hill to see what would happen. I was pleasantly surprised
when I rolled backwards...  I have also done a couple of Ricardo Patresse's
and gone airborne. It was scary :-)

On an unrelated note...I spun off (yes doing alot of that) and into
the dirt I went...when I stopped my right front wheel continued to
turn...apparently because it was elevated on a mound of dirt. My Oh
My...

Hey have you noticed the Video Screen at Monoco showing your view on a
big screen.

The physics would only be accurate if you happened to be in neutral at
the time, unless the sim applies the clutch automatically when you
come to a standstill with the car still in gear. Expecting you to
shift to neutral would be better, but while this would be okay in the
pits with a twenty second delay to fire 'er up again, stalling and
race over every time you spin could get frustrating.

Cheers!

They also have the big screen at Montreal and at Suzuka, not sure
about the other tracks though?

Doesn't Europe (or Luxembourg) have one, too, or am I confusing it
with another track?

Silverstone has 2 screens! I was finally able to get down to the 1:34's
after
some setups. I would be happy if I could run a 25% race like that. As it is
I
was lucky to finish 19th :-)

Practice practice practice....

Big screen also at Nuerburing, but right at the turn-in apex to a
`blind'  chicane, so you may not notice...

hehehehehhehehehehh....my of  my....this sim has got me away from
Longbow2, Quake2 and Su-27 Flanker...its scary Im at work dreaming of
setups for Monza...the first race of my custom championship <VBG> by the
way I love that I all the CHOICES this sim gives me to have fun...I
havent even tried time attack and training....WOW...now if the manual
wasnt such a mess...and it didnt look for 6 month old Voodoo files and
it didnt require 800x600 desktop resolution this would now be atop the
best sim released in the last 6 months...as it is now...its neck and
neck with Longbow2....

Try time attack with a ghost car.  It is INCREDIBLE!  You get
to race against a recording of your own best time.  It allows you to
adjust your line, braking, etc. accordingly as you try to beat your
own ghost car.  Really neat.  The manual is a bit confusing regarding
ghost mode.  Just record a fast lap in Time Attack.  Exit to the menu.
It will automatically save your fast lap as a ghost car.  You will
have the option of loading one of ten Ghost Cars as you accumulate
quicker times.

I keep my desktop at 1024x768 (16bit color) with no problem.
(I have a Matrox Millenium and an Orchid 3DFX card).

Anybody but me miss the Tobacco ads?  I don't smoke (hate
cigarettes) but think the ads add atmosphere to the races.  Hopefully
someone will make a car editor.

Man this was the best advice Ive recieved ....Time attack is a
blast...and Im learning how to get my times down...I feel like I will
stay here until I get my new motherboard and ram. Maybe then I can run a
race without the first corner slow down.
