% You made a bit of a mistake then, IMHO. Patience is a virtue - they tell me!
% Iain

Life is short and I have plenty of things to keep me busy and pleasured,
spending time with a sim that wasn't up to my standards just wasn't in
the cards.  Even after applying many of the tweaks suggested here in
r.a.s., F1-2000 was still short of what I want in a sim.  I had high
hopes for this product and the end result didn't even come close.  For
those that are (or will enjoy) this product, more power to you.

Jeez, could you possibly contradict yourself more severely in a single
paragraph? I think not.

Here we go again!  As usual you are taking words out of context and have
distorted their meaning for your own ***ed purpose!  You have missed out
the important words in my post, i.e. 'total ignorance OF THE SIM'.
It would appear that you need things to be explained to you more than once,
so I'll try ONCE more.  The comments in a lot of the negative posts are
based on ignorance of the software in practice. Never did I suggest that the
individuals doing the posting were themselves ignorant.
If you don't understand the difference, then you are either a very young
person, or you should go back to school.
Happy racing!

See previous replies on this.
In no way am I suggesting that YOU are ignorant, it's just that sometimes
your posts are based on ignorance of the software and how it works in
practice.

That explains your performance problems IMHO. I have a P2-450 and
just pruchased all the parts for upgrading to a P3-600E. It should be
done on monday I hope. My suggestion unfortunately is a faster CPU.

Huh, that is weird. As I have said earlier, my P2-450 with 12MB Voodoo 2
is giving 20fps in test and 15fps during races. This is at 800x600 with 22
opponants and the mirrors ON. I also just bought the parts to upgrade my
CPU to a P3-600E. The framerate *HAS* to be better than with the P2-450
IMHO. So I don't know.

I also don't get what your problem is with the graphics. I think they are
spectacular. I guess you just don't like the game. Fine...

Well since you think the game is a dog and you returned it, I am
curious why you are still reading these threads. Are you looking
to see if anyone is talking bad about you? Is this like looking
at a wreck and you just can't help yourself?

I think it is great you don't like F1 2000, but this is weird.

Don't know about Michael, but you certainly qualify.

I am looking for a quality all-around sim product and F1-2000 isn't one.
It was rushed out to meet the start of the real 2000 season and wasn't
optimized, de-bugged, the graphics seem unfinished (almost as if they
ran out of paint), the AI ain't, the FF isn't, sound is very lacking,
etc.  If and when EA/ISI release a huge update, I may give it another
try.

On the other hand, NFS:PU was a quality all-around sim product that was
finished, has good graphics, is optimized, good sound, better FF, better
AI, etc.  I found NFS:PU more enjoyable, and I still have GPL for my
full fix of racing simulator.

You are entitled to your opinion Michael, but it differs a lot from mine,
and I can assure you that I am a very fussy person!
Happy racing!
