If you were not Michael E. Carver I would have assumed this was
a troll. Since CPR totally blew, and IMHO is no comparison at
all to F1 2000, I am very curious to know exactly why you did not
like F1 2000. Were you running it on a P-166 or something?

Wow.

I certainly did not waste my $10. But I am curious to know what
hype are you referring to? Simply being from EA does not
equal hype as far as I Know.

In your opinion. In my opinion it does represent current F1
very good for a $30 PC racing game. Sometimes I just do
not know what is the matter with some of you people.

Why exactly would he be better off with GPL?

Or a bad un optomized computer. I am getting very acceptable

better than any other modern F1 game, heck even better or at
least as good as GPL.

Doesn't look much worse than GP2? Did you actually say that?
Whoa... we have a live one here!!! Haha.

In your opinion.

IMHO everything you said is wrong. But then again I am actually playing
F1 2000.

Just curious what CPU you have and what resolution you are trying to
play it in.

He doesn't sound like David Fischer. That dude likes to tell people to try
new sims, and not be biased or overly negative.

Hmmm, that wasn't perhaps a biased answer, was it?

Yep, go for it! Ignore a lot of the ignorant posts you see here and pay
attention to those that are posted by people who are actually using F12K.
With a little tweaking F12K is superb, and definitely the best of the modern
F1 sims. GP3? Well, we'll just have to wait and see. F12K is here now.

David, something's wrong here. I find it fantastic too, and since you
allways have a complete oppsite opinion as me, you can't like it!

Or could it be that we finally can agree on something?
Nah...

Thanks for asking, Greg - I'm running a K6 II 400, with pretty minimal
grafix (v3 3000, 128Mb RAM). I'd really LIKE to like this game, and I'll
persevere with it for a bit, but if you have any suggestions, I'd love to
hear them!!

PIII 650 with Voodoo3 2000....

I disliked the graphics, the dullness of some of the tracks, the way the
background crawled across the screen as it is drawn.  I guess I
basically don't have the patience to hack the program to make it
"playable" (the AI, the "grip", the graphics, etc.).  I thought the
sound was similar to a first grader imitating an F1 car (poorly at
that).  The Forcefeedback was highly lacking.

It just didn't convince me that it was a finished product worthy of my
time.  Maybe I just expected too much from the product and was totally
let down by its weaknesses to get it to it.  It was fun to tool around
with, but it didn't have the lasting hold that I look for in a sim.

Hi David.  I was just referring to the way he was convinced that the only
reason people were enjoying F1 2000 was because of some psychological need to
justify the spending of their money.  Similar to your stance that GPL fans have
invested so much time in the sim that they must justify this by over-stating
the quality of the physics engine, etc.  I agree with neither of these views,
by the way.

And sorry for having "Germanized" your name.

Not for the first time you have misrepresented what I said.  I don't have
the arrogance to assume that anyone who disagrees with me is wrong - far
from it.  My point was that a lot of the negative posts that been seen on
this NG are based on total ignorance of the sim and how it works in
practice. I was not suggesting that the people who make these statement
themselves are ignorant.
I hope that (again) my explanation of the use of the English language has
been useful to you!
