I got a deal on a voodoo 1 and a matrox card.  My monstor info indicates I have
glide 2.1.1 and 3DFX 4.10.01.0013.  For GPL with this Voodoo1, should I update
to the latest glide and 3dFX, or are the new drivers only for Voodoo2? I've
already read about the problem eith the newest glide, but are mine too old.  I
have an AMD K-6 200.  The game loaded and I'm just getting started with it,
first impression:  frame rates in the 20's with some graphics off..
Thanks

Get the reference drivers from www.3dfx.com (Glide 2.46). GPL runs
fine with them.

I think the problems with the new Glide arise only with VooDoo2
boards. I have an old VooDoo1, too, and never had a problem with the
newest driver from the 3DFX site.

I'm afraid that's about what you're going to get with that setup. The
problem is not so much the Voodoo as the CPU. I achieved about the
same fps when I had the K6 200 installed. Now, with an Intel P166MMX
clocked at 2.5x100, I can get more or less constant 36fps in training
(640x480), with some eye candy turned off.
