Does anyone know of anyway to run GPL using a Bumper Cam View. In most
sims I seem to get a better sense of speed and turn radiuses from this
view. The view would mean missing out on the virtual***pits movement,
but does it really help your driving or is it just pleasing to the eyes.
I spend way to much time in the grass to be able to answer that question
myself :)

You can change the views by editing the PLAYER.INI file in the /gpl/players
directory.  Look under [personal information].  There you'll find a line
saying
"driving view = 4".  Change that number.  I'm not sure what the number of
the view that you want is, but I know that "12" gives you the roll-bar view.
Experiment until you get the desired view.

I went through the 20 different views looking for an in-cockpit view
with speed, gear, etc.  There isn't one. The closest thing is 12 which
gives you a roll bar cage view.  Don't get to e***d though... if you
press f10, it sets it back to the defaults.

Why can't they put some of that black space to use like in the
replays.... position, lap times, best lap, speed, rpm, etc. It
wouldn't be that hard.

Anyway... here are the views I found
1. normal in-cockpit
4. chase
5. chase high
6. chase
7. pit cam
8. pit cam
9. front bumper
10. gearbox
11. right side***pit
13. left front suspension
14. right rear suspension
15. pit cam
16. TV
17. TV
18. TV2
19. Static TV
