N4 - Short Race idea

While contemplating DeMONS/2, I was considering the "save race" debate
and had an idea.

What if server admins could dial in more tire wear based on race length.
This is how it would work...

The standard tire wear setting for Daytona (day) is 3.00 according to
the track.ini file.  Using that as a baseline for a 100% race, if a race
was say 20%, that would be 80% less than a full race, so tire wear was
INCREASED by 80%, making it 5.40.  This would make tires wear faster and
may introduce some pit strategy in shorter events.

I haven't found out how to change fuel consumption, so there would
probably be many times where you'd stop with a lot of fuel remaining,
but at least the tires would be a factor.

Keep in mind that this is just an idea, but that it was spurred by
people complaining about not being able to save a race (the main reason
they gave was that there was no chance to employ pit strategy in short
races (30% or shorter).

Of course, if some kind soul at Papy could tell me how to change fuel
consumption too, that would be a nice gesture on their part. :-)

There ya go...from my experience with both NH and N4, the pitstops are
longer than
they should be.  Most likely you can get a full two cans in before the tires
are done, so
if you TRUST your racing compatriots....everyone could just take two cans
each stop....
I know I know....

good idea tho....

This would be an excellent idea!

I just tried a 20% dega race (38 laps) with tire wear set to "5.4"
(original value was 3.0).  The RF went yellow at lap 27, and the RR went
yellow at 33.

I don't think this is significantly sooner than 3.0 (does anyone have a
guesstimate on the lap where the rights sides are both yellow with the
original tire wear value?

I did notice that spinning out causes tires to wear with alarming speed.
This is (as far as I can tell) fairly accurate, and I'm almost sure that
bumping up the tire wear more will cause a lot of blow-outs when you're
spun out (again, fairly accurate result?).

I'm interested in any views/opinions/facts anyone might want to
propose/suggest/relate.

I've gone 50 laps at dega before both right side tires were yellow. The rf
goes yellow maybe 5 laps sooner.
This sounds like your close.
