Power VR video cards/ Any thoughts? How good for racing sims?

by S » Thu, 11 Dec 1997 04:00:00

I am at the point where I am ready to purchase a new 3D accelerator card
and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the Power VR cards,
over the 3dFX based cards.

Thanks in advance,

S. Egli

I would stick with 3dfx cards for general *** and Rendition cards for
those great sims that say Papyrus on the box. Better yet, get one of each, I
recommend a 2d/ Rendition card such as the proven (and cheap pricewise)
Intergraph Intense 3D 100 and any of the slew of 3dfx add-on cards. They all
use the same 3dfx Voodoo chipset.
    All the best, Media-Madman

Power VR cards are nice if you cant afford to get a 3dfx.
If you can, do yourself a favour and buy a 6mb 3Dfx like the Canopus
Pure 3D.
