Adding ram can help on running GP2

by kenny.. » Tue, 06 Aug 1996 04:00:00

Hi all,

I have played GP2  for 1 week. I play it every day on my P90 with Asus

TP4, 40MB non-EDO ram(2x16MB + 2x4MB), 2Mb DRam S3868, EIDE HD and Toshiba
5302B CD-Rom

and found it is very playable with some display options like sky

turned on in SVGA mode.

Though the estimated frame/sec is about 14.2, I haven'y seen any choppy

screen. I read from this group that some people having P133 and better

display card said they had turned some display option off, achieving

frame/sec of 14.2 and still think it is choppy. I think that it was

strange and I carried out a small experiment by taking out some Ram and

make it run  with 8MB ram(2x4MB). Then I instantly  know what they mean

'choppy'. It is strange that the estimated frame/sec is still 14.2. Any

idea and further input are welcome.

But I think ram can help a lot.

Regards,
Kenny Law

P.S. I have run s3spdup vga+ Vesa+ before running GP2 and the OS I am
using
is WIN95.
