Killer blow!

Though how come I feel a "No, you didn't" response down the line...

Cheers

Lol, nothing like a bit of MP humour to cheers things up.  That should
stop this stuff right in its tracks.

On a more serious note.  I can't really see where all this is getting
anyone.  Everyone who knows anything about this has long since made up
their minds and so all this re-hashing of what happened, when, and to
whom, is not making one iota of difference.  Everyone who is
contributing to these arguments already believe they are justified in
what they did at the time.  This is just a complete waste of time and
energy for all those concerned.

Note to ALL:

Nothing is going to be prooved (or is that proven?) - one way or the
other. Think of all the track time you're losing out on typing all this
stuff.

But that wouldn't be an argument.

Yeah, but it's seriously entertaining to us in the gallery - well, me

You hit the nail on the head Peter.  I spent all week replying to posts
instead of practicing and it showed as I was pretty far off the leaders
pace.

Um, I just wanted to say that it's an online racing league/collection of
unrelated races, and on top of that, it's only NASCAR.

And do you know what the kicker is? IT DOESN'T EXIST. It all happened in a
virtual world. You didn't actually race. You just sat at your computer and
held a little wheel, while a screen made some multicoloured dots flash in
front of your eyes. Get over it.

That is all.

I guess if it never did exist, then it never really happened. If it never
really happened, then what the heck are we doing here. Are we really here?
Hello?

No you're not.  This is nothing.  It's just some virtual network of
computers that serve news data.  It doesn't really exist.

Don't fool yourself.

What I love is the "just because you spent 3 hours racing a bunch of
real people on your computer who you may actually interact with in the
real world doesn't mean you should care about it" thing.  It's one of
the most overused arguments in the history of computer networking.
Seriously, I think I saw some kid bust the exact same thing that was
said above on a TRS-80 BBS in 1981.

You know what? The other day I was playing Counter-Strike and some guy
shot me in the head with an AK. Didn't bother me...
