heh.  no, evidently, you have to specifically buy a $150 Riva video card
in order to play Tantrum's $29 game.

i wish they did support rendition.  the person whom i bought this game for
was my dad, and now his system doesn't know what to do with it, right
alongside my 3Dfx card.

i'm glad i returned the game, i suppose.  Tantrum/Mindmagic will _never_
see another one of my spending dollars again.
