Many thanks to Simon Oxberry and Hog Racing for these fine tracks
converted to N2002! Great work! Great!

Arto

PS Perhaps it is only my imagination, but does N2002 really feel even
more realistic than N4? I cannot describe why, but so it feels...

So since these files do not contain the Dat files - you must have the
original N4 tracks  - BUT what if you own the US vercion of N4 and N2K2 and
don't have the DAT files?  AM I out of luck - or can someone post?

Why would you not have the DAT files if you own the US versions?

The US Version does not have the Silverstone track or Bullrun.

Or do you copy the DAT files say from Watkins Glen or Sears Point?

You have to use the US Pits GPL to N4 converter to convert the GPL version
of Silverstone. You can then use the modified mips to put the N4 Silverstone
into N2002.

It is "miles" better imo.

I think as of now I only have very few issues where I can pin-point what to
me is a weakness in the physics/simulation of these cars.

I know there are people out there that had never tested N4 or N2002 and
still deem GPL to be the crm de l crm ....  -  o'boy, it's time for them
to wake up and smell the coffee!

Absolutely.. that was the main reason I don't consider N2002 as an
'update' of N4.. it 'feels' WAY better.

Um, maybe I'm dense, but all I did was dl them and follow the installation
instructions in the readme file. Viola, I now have the new tracks installed.

I have a terrible memory. In fact my memory's so bad I can't remember how
long it's been since I've forgotten anything.

Is there anyway to convert Silverstone directly from GPL to NR2002?, as I
don't own N4, but do have GPL.

Alan.

OOOh :)

Sounds like a general GPL-->NR2002 converter is on it's way?

If so I wonder how these heavy beasts will handle Rouen (***? moi?
*grin*)
