Cart Racing and Rendition Patch

I have a Diamond StealthII S220 video card. The v2dosfix.exe patch is
installed.  The mirrors work great!  But when I look at a replay or drive
outside the car (which I don't usually do) the background (especially trees)
are flickering on and off.  What's the solution to this problem or is it just
the way it is?
