Installing GPL (Which Mode)??

by Mick » Sat, 10 Nov 2001 03:04:34

Hey all,
I'm getting ready to install GPL again, and I don't know which box to
check on the "Graphics Accelerator" options screen?? It has 3 choices..
(Software, 3DFX, or Rendition Verite) And my card is an "nVidia GeForce2
GTS Pro 64 MB" (Last time I installed the game I was using a Voodoo 3000
card, so "3DFX" was the obvious choice) But which one should I choose
for the GeForce2 ?? TIA, Mick

Geez, that's a good question! The better alternative might be to just copy
the backup of your previous installation (you DID make a backup didn't
you?!?). I have moved GPL from PC to PC as I upgraded and I have yet to
re-run the install. Doesn't seem to matter that the Registry settings aren't
there.

However, if this isn't an option I'd think your best bet is to install it in
Software mode then apply the 1.2, disco, and D3D patches after. I'm guessing
all this install option does is set up the initial INI file settings.

You need to get the d3d patch from the papy download page ... then you can
select d3d from the grafix menu. When u are there you can get the cpu fix
and the disco patch.

You'll want to select software originaly then get the d3d patch. After
starting the game up you'll be able to switch it to d3d which will require a
restart to take effect.
