I enter the following in vroc.ini

[VROC]
Address=racelist.vroc.net

I get a race list but no ping responce from any servers ? Also all the track
names show a dash in front of them.

Any ideas ?

If you already upgraded GPL to 1.2.0.x then (re)set the path to
GPL.EXE in WinVROC.

Cheers!

and I just learned that a "-" in front of a track means you don't have
that track installed.  At least not in a place VROC is expecting to
see it.  So maybe, as someone else has suggested, VROC is looking in
the wrong parent directory for gpl.exe.  Good luck

Thanks,  I got Vroc working by simply reselecting the GPL directory
in VRoc. Also as you mention the '-' means that I didn't have those
tracks installed :)   I have been away from GPL for awhile am just
getting back into it again.   Now for my next question. I have an
ATI9700 video card so I installed the D3d option. It looks fine except
from the 'in***pit' view in the upper left hand corner there is a square
of video artifacts. I have tried messing with all of the core.ini options
for d3d with no effect.

Thanks for your help so far guys :)

Apparently that is something to do with the latest Catalyst drivers.
If you turn of anti-aliasing in your display you will get rid of it. If you
still want to use AA then you have to switch back to an earlier catalyst
version (3.8 or earlier)
Hope it helps,
