I have had gpl since it came out and has always run pretty good even on my
p200mmx and Monster II. Now after installing a new soundblaster live it will
not run anymore. Could directx have anything to do with it. I think it
installed version 6. It just goes to the first screen and hangs up. Please
help, I have a new Abit Bh6,with PII400 coming monday. If it is the directx
6 how do I re-install 5 and were can I find it.

It's not DX6. I have it on my machine. I would look at the SB Live as the
possible culprit. If everything worked up til then, that's where the problem
probably is.

I have BOTH the DX6 and the SBLive!, and everything is OK.
I'd be leaning toward DX6 because their is a known problem with it.
I haven't experienced it, but there have been quite a few reports
about it locking up here.

To the original poster... there are new drivers for the card already.

Have you re-installed GPL on the new hardware. Just an idea.

Don't worry, ever since I got GPL, I have quit working, too. Just
sitting here driving GPL day and night, and... ...ohhh, your *sound*
quit working... ;)
