Logitech Formula Force upgradeable to new Immersion technology?

Hi all,

Could someone be able to tell me if the Logitech Formula Force is
upgradeable to new Immersion technology. Let's say I-Force 3.0 comes
out, will this wheel be obsolete?

I know the ACT Labs Force RS is upgradable, but what about the
Logitech FF?

Oh another question about the Logitech FF. In NFS 3, why do I only feel
the rumble of the engine when I turn the wheel. If I keep the wheel
centered I feel no engine rumble, why is that?

As far as I know it should be. I thought all of this was configured
in software. I could be completely wrong though.
