RS3 any good?

Just read this review of Racing Simulation 3:

http://www.racesimcentral.net/

Did anyone here try it yet? Is it any good? It seems to me it's not in the
same league with top sims like GPL, GTR2002, NASCAR, but it could still be
worthwhile if the physics are ok.

I think you'll find that it hasn't been released yet, despite some
optimistic views here recently about 6 December.  If I'm wrong tell me where
I can get it and I'll let you know!

If that's your recommendation, then I'm sure it's the best sim yet.

Were you on r.a.s. back then Gerry? Don't remember you then. Why don't you
confine yourself to debates which you were actually around to be part of.
What was a better auto sim when CPR was released? ICR2? N2? Don't think so.

BTW Gerry, because of my analysis of CPR and another racing game which I
beta tested with him, I was picked by the developer of VROC to beta test
that along with about a dozen other guys long, long before you ever got a
chance to make it your girlfriend. Apparently he respected my opinions a lot
more than you do. He then had me test a few more racing games for him when
he moved on and took a job as a racing game developer.

Does it bother you Gerry that I was one of the beta testers of your beloved
VROC?

Bet it does. Think of me every time you fire it up.

Aside from being old and designed to work on 486 CPU's what was wrong
with ICR2 or N2 realism-wise?  They were pretty damn good considering
the limitations of processor power available at the time.  GP2 was a
fine sim as well, the only one that really touched ICR2 at the time.

I'm sure there are still people who play that game. They're called 'mental
patients'.

sorry to disagree with you dave. er david, er dgf.

i *still* have a copy of ICR2 installed as I just got it working in XP
with my MSFF wheel and soundlblaster sound in a fullscreen dosbox.

it looks really lame these days, but its where i first saw ovals and
tracks like elkhart lake and long beach.

its no GTR2002, and i'm not mental!!!

(well, maybe just a bit).

Enjoy your festive season folks!
Regards all,
istoff
