Has anyone tried running GP2 on 486dx66.

Will it running properly or do we need pentiums?

I've played it on pentium 133 today and it was brilliant.

A friend of mine bought GP2 and his 486dx2 66 crashed everytime, the
processor just could not keep up the speed.
Finally I made a bootdisk for him and he could run GP2, it was ok when

you're alone on the track, in traffic the processor rate was approx.
250% so he uses GP2 now only for qualifying, until he gets a P133  ;-)

Greetings from Rob,

I have a DX2-66 with 16 megs and it really is swamped by the
software's features.   What seems to work well for me is to have all
trackside objects on and texture for those items only.  Sometimes,
like at Monza, I have to turn off trackside objects texture to get a
decent frame rate.  Even cutting back this far leaves the processor

never crashed.

All in all, though, the improvements in the realism of the performance
are worth the tradeoffs.  Even with the limited options I use, it's
still better than GP1 and it looks better too.
