Processor type and speed: 486 DX2/66 (this was the ducks nuts once!)
RAM: 8 Mb
CACHE:256 Kb
Video card: Cirrus Logic 5424
Video RAM: 1 Mb

Detail in VGA: NONE!!, except for smoke in main view and mirror
Frame rate in VGA: 21.3  (crawls in slow-mo when track is busy)

Detail in SVGA (svga? you gotta be joking): everything on
Frame rate in SVGA: < 8  (about 2 fps at Monaco !)

Input controller used: keyboard (Alt shift down)
Sound card: SB 16 equiv.

Any brief comments on set-up:  Lower car as much as poss, use packers
on faster circuits to allow ride height; set rear wing first to desired
top speed (having set gears), and then (as front wing is almost drag
free) set front as high as possible to give neutral handling, keeping
an eye on front tyre wear.
Use a slightly reduced downforce car for races (separate qualify/race
setups) to suit stop strategy, as worn tyres are (in the voice of
Lynn Faulds-Wood (sp?) POTENTIAL DEATH TRAPS!)

LOVE the physics model, but a full on or off throttle proves fatal more
often than not during races so put throttle help on normally, and take
it off for some power slide skill control during practice sessions!
I want to be able to stall the car, blow the engine, and break the pit
lane speed limit!  And why can't the cars turn over in crashes?  I
guess the 3D engine only caters for 45deg rolls.  It seems Geoff was
limited by cpu power, thats why no 3D sounds and rain fx; a bit of
smoke in my main view and occupancy goes through ceilings.

        1mb western dig.

        19

no textures, track and smoke in mirrors, trackside: low
        11-15

        sb16

486 owners: to get a frame rate like this, set the target fps above the
estimate and make sure your oocupancy is at 100%.  Double check by hand-timing
a lap and compare the time on your watch with the time your computer gives
you.  If the computer time is less, you're in slo-mo, occupancy is too high.
If the computer time is less, you could get a better frame rate.
