F1-2001 oddity

by John Zumste » Sun, 29 Dec 2002 13:36:01

After a complete computer meltdown, I've reinstalled F1-2001 on a machine
with a new CPU/motherboard. I find that I can run just fine on about half
the standard tracks. On the other ones, it loads to about 3/4 of the guage,
then stalls (requiring me to kill F1-2001 via the Win2k task manager). On
Monte Carlo, it gets to about 3/4 of the loading guage and then crashes to
desktop. Re-installs have made no difference.

Any ideas what's gone wrong (it worked on the old machine). Equipment:
AMD 2600+
Asus A7V333 mobo
1 gig RAM
Lots o' hard disk space

Thanks
But it crashed after the 2 updates.  Had to go back to the original
f1_2001.exe to get it working again. Think updates meant loading of all
sorts of additional track files? Working fine now...
