Sega's Daytona U.S.A... Sim ?

Today was the first day I saw Daytona U.S.A. You know what I think
really sucks about Sega holding the rights to Daytona ? That they screwed
up the game.  The track isn't even Daytona ! It's got weird figure eights
and lottery machines in it... now is that good advertising for Sega or
Daytona ? The speeds go over 300 mph ! Is that stock car racing, indy
racing or drag racing ?  I personally will never pay money to play the game, for
the simple reason that Papyrus could have given the track and name real
justice.
Any other thoughts/comments on the Daytona U.S.A. ?

I agree that Sega has turned Daytona into a completely different track in
Daytona USA.  But you also have to remember that you don't go to the arcades
to plop in 50 cents to $1 to have to sit there for 3-4hours of configuring and
then racing.  :)

If you notice, if you are in the lead, the guy racing you (losing) will have a
50% - 150% speed advantage, so that the race can be kept close.

I think, though, that Sega should let Papyrus do the Daytona track the *right*
way for us NASCAR Racing fans.  It would be great to race Daytona.  That is
_the_ track that I want to race in NASCAR.

with:

Daytona USA is a ripoff.  Yeah, the graphics are nice.  No, it is not a sim,
the driving is as realistic as a four-peckered pony, and it's an embarrassment
to Daytona, NASCAR, and everyone else even remotely interested in racing.

Sega is using the name for money.  Plain and simple.  Thus also depriving
those of us who race a TRUE simulator of its most famous track.
