GPL: OpenGL settings please?

by Fyanh » Sun, 20 Feb 2000 04:00:00

I have a Celery 450 system, based on an Abit BX6r2 board, GeForce card
(3.76) and full U2W SCSI kit. This is usually stink fast with most games.
However, the OpenGL beta for GPL is a problem.

The game will start up as usual and the 'options' screen shows the GL driver
is selected. Everything seems to be fine until I click the green flag to get
onto the track. The frame rate then drops to around 0.2 frames per second!

The game is obviously playing in the background, as the engine noise
responds to the throttle and the car will move. It's just that the graphics
do not keep up!

I have tried adjusting the OpenGL core.ini settings in just about every
combination I can think of; all to no effect. I have seen a few posts from
people with GeForce cards who are reporting good frame rates. Does anyone
have any ideas on how to get OpenGL to work please?

By the way, the software driver option works OK, except that the Celery does
not cope too well with more that six cars on screen at a time.

Cheers,

Fyanha
