Help with Mafia and force feedback!

by jeff » Sun, 30 Nov 2003 08:12:54

I'm playing with Mafia (patch 1.2 or 1.3, depending on how you read the
patch.)  I'm using the Logitech WingMan Formula Force.  This wheel has
worked perfectly in other games, but this is the first time I've used it on
my new computer.  I've got it connected via USB, and in the setup test under
Windows XP it works good.  In the game, as soon as I start moving the car,
the wheel starts jiggling all over the place and won't stop until I go back
to the menu.  I't like there's some bug in the force feedback in the game,
but I don't see this listed as a major problem anywhere.  Any hints?
Thanks.

Don't worry - it's just sloppy programming - they don't support Logitech....

Just turn FF off - and anyway it's a great game - pitty though they 4cked up
on this one....

They don't support Logitech?  Seriously?   Anyway, I'd be happy to turn off
the force feedback, but as far as I can tell there isn't any way.
Ridiculous.

Turn off FF on the Settings section on the LWFF from the Game Controllers
section in the Control Panel.

I get the same problem - annoying but unfixable.

I first went to the Logitech Profiler, and thought I might be able to turn
it off just when using Mafia, but no such luck - the check box isn't there
in the properties for each game.  It is there on the main properties window
through Control Panel.  Yet another dumb thing.  Anyway, that fixed the
problem, thanks.
