The Australian Super7 League
"Adding a new dimension to Grand Prix Legends"

Well, after a short break, the "Super7's" returned with Rounds 10 and 11 at
the ultra-fast Spa circuit.  Car choice here was interesting, with people
chosing a range from the very quick Eagle, right through to the Honda and
even the Brabham.

I can only speak for the Formula 1, but I believe the driving was superb,
especially in the qualifying session.  Congratulations to everyone....

AUSTRALIAN SUPER7 LEAGUE
Rounds 10 & 11  - SPA (Int Short)

Round 10

Formula 2  was interesting with a variety of cars.  RoadRage managed to
blitze them in qualifying with a great lap of  3:18.63 in his Eagle.   But
he didn't have it all his own way in the race.  Troy Rosenberg kept him
honest and finished just 0.88 seconds behind RoadRage.  S.Griffis showed
great pace in the Ferrari to come home in 3rd position and grab the last
podium postition.

Formula 1  qualifying was very fast with Greg Stewart grabbing the pole with
a blistering 3:15.09.   In the race, the top three were closely bunched for
the first 2 laps.  James Pickard unfortunately disconnected leaving a gap
for Greg to pull away from Vail Riches.  In the end the Gap was just 4.33
seconds, Greg Stewart the victor.  Thrid place was taken by Greg Longfield
driving his Eagle.

Round 11

Formula 2 In the second race, RoadRage was a no show for qualifying, leaving
the door open for Roger Graham to take his first AS7L pole.  Well done Rog.
The race, as usual, was a different matter.  Vince Browning managed to take
the win with an average speed of 154.0 mph.  An excellent 2nd place was Nick
Sebesfi (starting from 9th!!).  3rd place was taken by a very hard charging
RoadRage (starting from 2nd last on the grid!!) and setting the fastest lap
and a PB of 3:16.73.  All podium places were driving Eagles.

Formula 1  If you thought that qualifying in Formula from Round 10 couldn't
get any hotter, think again.  Greg Stewart again set the pole with a
3:15.37, edging out James Pickard by 0.30 seconds.  Vail Riches start 3rd
from Steve Ryan.
In the race, Greg Stewart again set the pace which was just too hot for
anyone and he took the win in his Lotus ahead of Steve Ryan and Greg
Lonfield respectively. 3rd to 6th were separated by barely 4 seconds by the
end making for an exciting race.

The Super7's now move on to the fast sweeping US circuit of Watkins Glen.
With most people having a lot of experience here, it should be a close and
exciting race.
