Finding Nascar version ?

I see in "The Pits" there is an upgrade to version 1.21, but
how do I find out which version I have already ?  I don't
see it when it loads, and there's nothing on the box/disk.

Anyone know ?

Wrong. The track pack only installs version 1.2, not 1.21. 1.21 is
essentially 1.2 but with a few modem fixes.

If you have Track Pack along with NASCAR,  you have version 1.2
If you have plain NASCAR,  you have 1.0

Better go get it...

Not necessarily.  If you install the track pack it upgrades your NASCAR
version to 1.20 or 1.21 depending on when you purchased the trackpack,
but you could reinstall 1.1 on top of that and it runs just fine.

When you run the program look at the lines that appear just before the
Opening graphic page.  Somewhere on there it should say what version you
are running.  You have to look fast because it stays on the screen only
a couple of seconds.

You should be able to find the version number on the opening screen
that is displayed while the game is loading.

John,

In order for you to see which version of the sim you have, do the
following:

run the sim...
as the sim loads, and you see the DOS extender being loaded, you will
see the version of the sim being loaded after that. Got it??

The current versions of NASCAR are: 1.0, 1.1, 1.2(with Track Pack) and
1.21( fixes modem problems and is the latest.. But no fix for the
"cross weight bug".

take care..

To find out which version of NASCAR you are running, look carefully after
starting the game.  You'll see some stuff about DOS4GW, then the NASCAR
version number, then the sound card init.

This is simply NOT TRUE.  My version of the track pack does include a
patch for the game, but only to version 1.2.

Did you notice the caps only on the NOT TRUE, kind adds emphasis
doesn't it.  There really is no need to yell, I can "hear" you quite well
(unfortunately).  Just because the 'net is world wide doesn't mean you
have to yell.
