TOCA Thrustmaster Pro problem--HELP!

by Thomas Anderso » Tue, 08 Sep 1998 04:00:00

I cannot get my steering wheel to setup correctly in TOCA.  I've calibrated
and re-calibrated and setup everything over and over and the car will only
respond with a jerky motion as if I were using the keyboard.  Turn the wheel
FULL left and the car with turn left SHARP! There is no gradual turning like
in all other sims.  Am I doing something wrong or is there a problem with
the sim and if so, is there a patch??
Please, any help is greatly appreciated.

                                Thanks-- Tom

Tom,

It sounds like you're choosing "Digital Joystick," which is the first option
after choosing "Configure Joystick."  So, try this:

1.    Go to the "Game Options," and choose "Control Options."
2.    Make sure "Player 1's" control is "Joystick 1."
3.    Choose "Configure Joystick."
4.    TOCA will ask you in the following order: "Analogue or Digital
Joystick?," "Analogue Accelerator?," and "Analogue Brake?"  You should know
what to choose.  Then TOCA will ask you to press the keys you want to use
for Gear Up/Down, Rear View, and Change View.

Hope this helps, and just one question for you (in fact, all TOCAers).  Does
your engine go completely silent when braking?  If so, is there any way to

downshift, or having to come back onto the gas only to find out I'm in too
high a gear....

John Wilson's answer is good. On the other point, yes there is a patch for TOCA
go to www.codemasters.com for version 1.1
