Which are the best sims of all time with respect to A.I.? Not necessarily
the most robotically perfect and challenging A.I. opponents, but which game
has opponents that make the most humanlike errors, and vary their driving
lines from one lap to the next, at least a bit. Which sims would you have
the toughest time telling whether you were racing against a group of humans
online or a group of A.I. opponents ?

IMO - NASCAR Heat has the best AI, especaily with the CTS addon. I think
Papy has the robotic AI. I'm just not to sure they are perfect. :) Another
thing I would love to more games pick up on is the difffernt settings
between speed and aggression like the EA F1 games have. That way if you are
not that fast you can still get a good race.

Although I haven't spent a lot of time with it... the AI in FIA GT Mod for
F12001 is pretty good at Monza, T1 :) Controlled mayhem. The rest of AI
behavoir seems reasonable (but again I need more time with it).

I'll agree that Papy's AI is robotic, but it is tons better than
NHeat. I mean, 3-wide at Bristol with cars driving less than a foot
from each other from the front to the back of the field? Plus, they
*never* wreck unless you are involved somehow.

I've got to second that. Considering how awful the AI is in NHeat
it's amazing that MGI's previous product was pretty spot on. It had
better damage modelling too.

well, you can get up to 15 AI opponents with some simple modifications to
the options.cfg file and test it out for yourself.
