Here's an example of the output generated by D2League (using the results
file from last weekend's Richmond race).

        http://www.racesimcentral.net/

It takes an html template defined by the user, and extracts data from
the results file generated by the sim.  The user-defined template is
basically a HTML page that contains "data tags" which are key words that
D2League recognizes and associates with data in the original results
file.

I've always felt that the results files generated by papy sims look
kinda clunky, and seem to scroll forever.  I came up with an example
template that compresses everything into a more attractive and
compressed format.

There's still stuff left to do for actual league admins, but for our
use, I think it's almost far enough along for you to use if you want to.

That page look pretty good John, much better than the original...

A few bits:

- would be nice to see who lead laps / most laps etc.
- would be even nicer to see # of  posistions lost / gained compared to
qual.

- some bonus points seem to be missing...  but the points-bit isnt important
imho - you could just aswell remove it and replace it with any of the
above...

Yeah, that's a simple matter of using additional key words (my original
template didn't speciufy the field, so it wasn't included in the
example).

If both fields (start/finish positions) are included on the page, would
it really be necessary to do the math and use up addition horizontal
space?

Actually, this program uses a points file to deterine points awards, and
the settings in the file for LapsLed and MostLapsLed were both 0, so no
bonus points were awarded.

However, the use of a points file allows you to determine how races are
scored, and the program comes with Nascar and Formula 1 points files.
You can also create your own. :)

The points file allows points for finishing position (up to 43
positions), and bonus points to be added for:

  laps led
  most laps led
  most positions gained
  fastest qual
  fastest practice time
  fastest warmup time

and penalty points for:

  speeding entering pits
  speeding exiting pits
  unsafe pit exit
  wreckless driving

These are the things that the sim can detect and report on, so I allow
points to be specified for them.
