If a site just puts up a .zip with no preview image, how the hell do I
view the car? The paintkit just imports .pcx's right? What am I
missing? Is there a .car viewer somewhere?

I suck, therefore I shall not race online.
However, I greatly admire other people's artistic skills. Hence my
