Main good point has to be the weather. It works wonderfully. I was
having a 3 lap quick race at Hockenheim this evening, and though it
started dry, by the end of lap 1 there was drizzle in the stadium
(though the forest sections were still dry). Lap 2, and the rain had
got a little heavier, and had spread as far as the first corner.
Visibility getting a bit worse. By the end of the race (lap 3) it was
wet in the stadium, dampish on the near part of the forest, and still
dry at the far end. So like today's GP I half-expected a track
invasion...
Other good points: AI much better than GP2; tracks modelled pretty well
(not perfect, though); easy to get into for GP2 players.
Main bad point: well, there's not a lot *new*, is there? As several
people have said, it's really GP2.5. Not bad in itself, but *four
years*???
Other bad points: unoptimised graphics - I should not have to turn
options off for dry-weather hotlapping; only one engine sound; no stop-
go penalties (or safety car?); poor replay system; no Villeneuve (for
about the first three seconds ;-) ).
Overall: I enjoy GP3 - it's fun. But it isn't the jaw-dropper that GPL
was, not by a long chalk. It scores around 75%, I think.
