Online Racing

I just started racing online this week. I'm hoping to get fast enough for
RASCAR.

Just an observation,  DAMN there's a lot of stupid wreckers out there!  Near
impossible to have a clean race when morons take out half the field on the
first lap.  I know accidents happen but sheesh!  I've found that just not
qualifying and staying in the back for the first half of the race is the
only way to finish on the lead lap.

If anyone has some good advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tim

I was the moron that took out half the field. Since you just started racing
online this week I'll take your remarks for what they are worth. I'll give
you an explanation of what happened on that first lap. The polesitter got a
bad start and went into turn 1 off the pace. At tracks like California where
the car gets upset easily in the turns it doesn't take much to lose it and
thats exactly what happened. The setup was great except it becomes very
unsettled in the corners early on. You might also want to remember that
fixed setup racing is quite different than it used to be. Setups feel
differently on every machine and are much more sensitive to change. As for
advice, I would suggest losing the attitude if you are going to race with
RASCAR, most are there to have fun.

Well I guess I missed something,my advice would be to find a league to race
in(from the remarks not Rascar) drivers are more into racing and helping
each other improve.

Come on over to our league.  We have a beginner's division.  Just send me an
email.  We're not looking for new members but after seeing the poor response
you got from this newsgroup I'll make an exception.

There's a few people on this newsgroup that need to lose the attitude.  But
that's typical.

Why not RASCAR?  We run fixed setup so that we don't have to***
around with finding a competitive setup on top of having to practice,
and we make an honest effort not to do stupid shit on the track.

With any online racing, shit happens.  Hopefully, everyone in RASCAR
learns from their mistakes and moves on.

Mike,
I wasn't talking about that,  I totally understood that's racing.  It was
the intentional wreckers I am most frustrated with.  Sorry I should have
made myself more clear.  My fault.

I *think* he was talking about online wreckers Mike, not the RASCAR race
yesterday. And if everybody in RASCAR that causes a wreck is a moron then hell
were a regular looney bin. But...we don't have any intentional wreckers like
online. I started running RASCAR because it was established as a fun non
league, but after being chastised for chat during Q I'm not sure some feel that
is the case anymore. Either way if he was digging at you, well he better check
with others...your probably the best of RASCAR.

Thanks John and Joel!

I just want to run as well as I can without someone taking me out on
purpose.  Hell, I'm far from perfect, I know I've caused accidents.  But not
on purpose.  Shit does happen.

Yes I was talking about racing on Sierra.  Sorry, I posted at 3:00AM.  I
guess I left things out.  I was running at Daytona and Talladega last night.
California and Texas the night before.  I prefer short tracks but most of
those have 3 or better restrictions.  I'm a online newbie so it's kinda hard
to get in.  I have a 4 rating but it's all SS.

Again Mike I'm not in RASCAR, I wasn't calling you a moron.

"Tim Paullin"
It's good to know that we can all get along.  Just remember to show your
fellow racers some respect.  So...if you ever want to call somebody a Moron
in the future...remember to say 'MISTER' moron.

NP, I understand. Nothing worse than getting taken out early in the race
even if it is just an accident. Stick in there, they have decent races most
of the time.

Lol, I guess I misread that totally. I was still the moron that caused the
wreck on lap 1. (-:
